MMOrning Shots: Menu Redux

10866E3_2013_FFXIVARR_PUB_29

Today’s MMOrning Shots is a callback to a classic, which is what we writers use as code word for using old content to mask a lack of new content to show. Remember back when Final Fantasy XIV was under reconstruction and how one of the big reveals was that Square Enix had tested their new user interface to hit a goal of “tolerable?”

MMOrning Shots remembers every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Final Fantasy’s 2.3 patch is so massive, it requires an equally beefy eight minute trailer. Those of you with active subscriptions are likely already downloading the patch as I write this, so just watch the trailer anyway.

MMOrning Shots: Final Fantasy XPSIV

FFXIV_PS4_140414_(6)_1397477504

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from Square Enix, marking the launch of Final Fantasy XIV on the Playstation 4, not to be confused with the upcoming remake of Final Fantasy IV on the Playstation 14 set for release in 2078. If you have a Playstation 4 and enjoy a good MMO, grab a copy at your local retailer. If you don’t own a Playstation 4, you might not find much value in the disk. If you bought FFXIV on the PS3, you can go ahead and upgrade to the digital version for the PS4 at no additional fee. This offer is only valid until the end of December.

Check out MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Or don’t, I’m not a cop.

Final Fantasy XIV 16-Bit Boss Battle

What would Final Fantasy XIV look like if Square Enix never left 16-bit? Square Enix knows, and wants to show us in the following video which shows a team of warriors battling Titan, one of the bosses in FFXIV. Can the internet bring us a 16 bit demake of Final Fantasy XIV? I can always hope so.
