Lineage II Cancels Hero Coin Resets


Lineage II players by now are used to the annual reset, an event that takes place every January and resets your Hero Coins. As it turns out, the reset has been causing a great deal of frustration and confusion in the community, and NCSoft has taken notice.

In an announcement posted to the official website, NCSoft has announced that the annual reset will be going away starting this year, meaning there won’t be a reset in January 2017 or afterward. As a result of the change, there will be alterations made to the hero coin store. Details will be coming in the future as to those changes.

Hero Coins in Lineage II are accumulated by buying and spending NCoin, the cash shop currency.

Our thoughts: I have a feeling that costs are going to rise for items in the Hero Coin store now that NCSoft has a reasonable expectation that the amount on hand is universally increasing.

NCSoft NCoin Cards Available at Retailers

NCSoft has announced that NCoin, the company’s premium currency, is available now at a select number of retailers. The list of retailers includes Walmart, Gamestop, Best Buy, and Toys R Us.

Whether you’re looking to stock up on NCoin, or give your fellow gamer friends some NCSOFT spending money for the holidays, NCoin cards are available now at several retail locations! View the list below and check with your local retailer about picking up some NCoin, good for purchases in NCSOFT games. Select cards will also provide a bonus item for your chosen game as a thank you for being an NCoin card purchaser.

Wildstar Free To Play Transition Accompanied By New Content

Wildstar is heading free to play this year and eyeing a Chinese launch, but before that happens Carbine Studios wants to detail a few changes that are coming.

“WildStar going free-to-play is so much more than a new business model”, said Mike Donatelli, product director at Carbine Studios. “We’re also introducing a massive game update full of new features and quality of life improvements. It’s going to be a fun environment for new players to join and we’re also going to do right by the players who have been with us since the beginning”.

A new rewards system will allow players to obtain points for making NCoin purchases, buying subscriptions, and redeeming CREDD. The reward system is retroactive, providing points to anyone who had previously invested in Wildstar. New players will be greeted by a revamped tutorial and new game experience, with options based on the player’s prior knowledge of MMOs. The way equipment works will change, with certain stats (brutality, finesse) being removed and replaced by other new primary stats (assault, support, health, armor).

Also accompanying the updates are changes to dungeons, splitting them into separate level tiers, and new content areas for PvE and PvP.
