And The APB Winner Is: K2 Networks!

K2 Networks

Rev up the Wikipedia, because All Points Bulletin has a buyer…well, it always had a buyer, but now we know who that buyer is: K2 Networks. To save some of you the work, K2 Networks is the gaming company behind the Western localizations of Knight Online, WarRock, 9Dragons, among others. Given that K2 operates solely on Asian f2p grinders, the likelihood that All Points Bulletin will follow the free to play cash shop model are very high.

An official statement is coming next week. You can read the full story on Eurogamer, and I guess it’s time to stick All Points Bulletin in the Upcoming category. Bet you never thought you’d see that. But today the Realtime Worlds APB saga comes to an end.

  1. I’m happy to hear APB has a buyer, but not so happy about K2. Their games typically don’t do so well but I guess it’s better than MMO death. I’m very sad that so many MMOs are failing of late.

On the other hand, I hope it lives on in some zombie-like fashion since the character creation and graphics are so good in APB. We definitely need models to rehab aging and failed MMOs so sunk costs aren’t pure sunk costs.

    1. I just hope K2 puts some effort into regulating All Points Bulletin. I’ve played a few of their other games, which are all filled to the brim with gold farmers and spam bots.

I gave the new APB its own category and kept the old one, because I wanted to drive home a point that these are going to be two different experiences.
