Daybreak Dead Silent As H1Z1 Ends Its Latest Season

Yea it’s that time again.

Season 6 of H1Z1 is ending in roughly eight hours from the time that this is published, and out of everyone who hasn’t seem to have noticed, Daybreak Game Company should probably not be among them. It’s been three months since Daybreak launched Season 6 and showed us just how low effort a battle pass could truly get, and Daybreak has not posted a news piece since December 19.

H1Z1 season 6 offered loot crates almost exclusively as its rewards, some of which you actually have to pay for. I theorized then that season 5 would likely be the last real season as Daybreak had neither the resources nor the personnel to put into fixing a game that has gone into the toilet because they didn’t fix its most glaring issues back when the game was still riding high, and I think my prediction is coming to fruition. Season 6 was a dud and talk of season 7 is nowhere to be found. The arcade mode is dead and abandoned, and the standard modes have only gotten worse in terms of technical problems.

The fact that Daybreak announced their split without even mentioning H1Z1 confirms my belief that this game’s days are numbered, not that you would need a crystal ball to see it. Perhaps Daybreak is hoping to just quietly ride the game into maintenance mode. Maybe they’ve been working on something in the background to bring some life back into this dying game. I won’t hold my breath for that last one.

More H1Z1 news as it doesn’t appear.
