1.5 Years Later, NCSoft Is Killing Aion: Legions of War

This MMO is mobile; moving to a graveyard.

Ask anyone what their favorite aspect of NCSoft is and not shotgunning games into the trash can probably won’t be on that list. As a developer and publisher, NCSoft’s speed in releasing titles is almost matched by their speed in shutting them down at the first sign of financial trouble and this latest game won’t be shaking up that tradition.

Such is the case with Aion: Legions of War, a title that launched in January of last year and will be shutting down completely at the end of June. The game has already been pulled from app stores, and in app purchases have stopped.

We know that you will have both opinions and questions as we move through this process. We are here to engage with you on all of our communication channels, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. As we conclude this journey together, we want to thank our community — many of whom have been with us from the very beginning– for their unwavering passion and loyalty. We have sincerely enjoyed our time with you.

Judging from the game’s forums and Google Play/iOS store rankings, the ten people actively playing Aion might be devastated to see this news.
