Also donates money to charity.
Old School RuneScape just ended its month-long Deadman Mode tournament this weekend. The tournament saw thousands of players joining in with one winner, ‘Tata Sleepy’, taking home the grand prize. First place prize included one thousand dollars, the Razer Ultimate Bundle, Intel i9 9900k CPU, Intel Swag Bag, and one year of free Old School RuneScape.
Other players in the top 16 also received prizes. As part of the tournament Jagex will donate £25,000 to three mental health charities – CPSL Mind, The Prince’s Trust, and Rise Above The Disorder. The donations are part of a £100,000 commitment to support mental health work during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Executive producer Rob Hendry stated;
“We were really excited to watch the DMM tournament and have been thrilled by its reception from our players. Globally, we are all going through a very difficult time and so we’re humbled to see our community come together to support our mental health charities while playing Old School RuneScape. We’ve seen the best of the best compete in this tournament and are blown away by the skill on display.”
