Resident Evil comes to Division 2.
The Resident Evil and Division 2 crossover event is here and there is a ton of stuff to do over the next couple weeks. The Division 2‘s Resident Evil event runs from February 2 through the 15.
The first thing you receive upon logging in is the Leon Kennedy three piece outfit. There are 23 other items to obtain in total and they are all locked behind apparel caches (loot boxes). Furthermore you’ll need to have finished the New York campaign from the Warlords of New York expansion pass in order to take part in the event. The New York campaign can be easily powered through in a few hours.
The good news is that you don’t technically have to spend any money on this event. While you can purchase apparel caches for $1 apiece, you also obtain them naturally every four levels. Leveling doesn’t take long at all, it’s barely an inconvenience. Apparel caches also never distribute duplicates.
Running alongside the event are two other events that are more engaging. The first is the Reanimated Event that runs for the next week. The reanimated event must be activated from the event menu and it basically turns everyone in the world into potential zombies. Kill enemies without headshots and they shortly reanimate and come back to life. The reanimated NPCs are virtually identical to their living counterparts, just green. Headshots on any enemies create a puff of toxic smoke that damages anyone around them (except players apparently). The reanimated event has daily challenges and rewards various caches and cosmetics over ten levels.
Players will also want to keep an eye on their daily projects, as exclusive items can be obtained through those events as well. The daily projects won’t take up much time with the first one being to complete three bounties, donate 100 resources to control points, and emote near three different players. You can knock that out in a half hour tops. They do offer other cosmetics not available through the apparel event.
