Netmarble Posts $2.1 Billion Revenue


They made a lot of money.

This week Netmarble released their 2020 fiscal year results, and those results? Lods of emone. Total revenue grossed $2.1 billion with an operating profit of $230.56 million and a net profit of $286.9 million. Netmarble’s overseas revenue chain saw a massive growth in 2020 accounting for 72% of sales.

Top performing titles include Marvel Contest of Champions (15%), Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross (12%), and Seven Knights 2 (12%). While total sales marked a 12% increase year over year, net profit is up 2,097%. Yes, two thousand percent. That can get you a lot of dinners at Red Lobster.

“We achieved meaningful growth in 2020 with the global launch of A3: STILL ALIVE, the Korean launch of Seven Knights 2 and MaguMagu 2020, the continued success of The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross and MARVEL Contest of Champions as well as ongoing enthusiasm from players worldwide for our current portfolio of games,” said Seungwon Lee, Co-CEO of Netmarble. “We made noteworthy achievements with our original IP titles this year, and will continue to make efforts to strengthen original IP for global players to enjoy.”

Blade & Soul Revolution is expected to launch in Q1 2021 alongside the global launch of NBA Ball Stars. Ni No Kuni will launch in Japan, Korea, and Taiwain in Q2. The second half is expected to bring the global launch of Marvel Future Revolution as well as the Korea/Japan launch of Seven Knights Revolution.
