Login servers have been offline a couple hours now.
Those logging into RuneScape today to work on their Yak Track may be disappointed to find themselves unable to log in. At roughly 10 a.m. ET this morning Jagex reported problems affecting their login servers that may prevent players from logging in. Those already logged in should have no issues remaining connected. Given RuneScape’s drop-on-death item system, players should avoid dangerous activity just to be safe.
Jagex issued a notice on the RuneScape Reddit as well as the official website. We linked to both since the website isn’t displaying news at the moment.

We are aware of an issue currently preventing players from logging into the game.
Our teams are investigating. We will keep you updated with any developments as soon as we’re able to.
This issue does not impact players already in-game, you should be able to continue playing as normal – though we advise against changing worlds.

Over on the RuneScape Twitter, Jagex posted that servers will need to be rolled back slightly.
Update: Our teams have been able to bring back up our login servers.
However, to fully fix the issue, we will need to rollback progress for a small portion of players back to 2:15 GMT. We estimate this rollback to happen at 17:00 GMT.Our apologies for the inconvenience.
