CapitalGamingRP has an eventful week.
It’s been an eventful week over at Australian studio CapitalGamingRP. After thirteen months in early access and incredibly poor reception, the studio cancelled development of online role playing game Civil Contract. The Steam page now lists the game as “Self Terminated Project” and has been stripped of any connection to CapitalGamingRP Studios to dodge association with the game.
Civil Contract gained public attention due to the conduct of its developer, from posting an apparently fake positive review, threatening critics with fraudulent copyright claims, and of course making nonsensical GDPR legal threats against yours truly. These actions the work of CapitalGamingRP’s CEO Tanner Rozankovic, aka Varius Benson. The combined efforts of a low quality launch mixed with the toxic, abrasive response to criticism led Civil Contract to peak at seven users. Civil Contract has never hit double digits in concurrent users.
In order to salvage its image, CapitalGamingRP is disassociating itself completely with Civil Contract and instead releasing a new title under the name Ozburg. Ozburg is, by their own admission, “the same concept as Civil Contract.” Copies will be given to all owners of Civil Contract.
Meanwhile CapitalGamingRP this past week attempted to launch a moddable sandbox game on Steam by the name Monogon: Echoes. The efforts went sideways after the title was hit with a DMCA claim by Daniils Ostapcuks, developer of the title Mod and Play. Valve removed the title pending an appeal from CapitalGamingRP.
