Servers shut down this September.
Behaviour Interactive announced this week that Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade will shut down on September 10. Originally launched in in 2016, Eternal Crusade’s player base fell off very quickly due to poor optimization, rampant cheating, and shoddy support from the developers. If you look at the Steam charts the game hasn’t breached 500 concurrent players since at least 2018.
Today we are announcing the sunsetting of the game. The servers will be closing on the 10th September 2021. Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will no longer be playable at this point.
We are proud of all of the work that went into Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, and for the amazing community that rallied behind the game. Thank you for everything, we appreciate all of your support through the years.
Eternal Crusade is a title we haven’t talked about here at MMO Fallout for a long time, and that’s mostly because the game died out a long time ago. Eternal Crusade was pitched as an open world MMO with 1,000 player battles, player objectives, campaigns, and plenty more overhyped features that never made it into the game. You could make a documentary on all of the lies and false promises that the developers at Behaviour Interactive made before launch, and in fact several YouTubers already have.
