Game set to shut down this year.
This week Ubisoft announced that mobile Tom Clancy spinoff Elite Squad will be shut down later this year. Elite Squad is a free to play gacha game utilizing characters from the Tom Clancy universe. It launched on mobile devices in August 2020 and never managed to get a foothold in the hypercompetitive mobile marketplace.
Today’s update will be the last in the pipeline, while the servers themselves close on October 4.
This was not an easy decision, but after exploring multiple options with our teams, we came to the conclusion that it was no longer sustainable. We want to assure you all that we really gave it our best, especially with big updates like Season 2, and it was a truly rewarding experience to work with you, our passionate community!
