For assault on a child under 13.
RuneScape composer Ian Taylor was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison following an arrest for the sexual assault of a girl under the age of thirteen. The assault took place on December 21, 2020 and Taylor later confessed to the police and plead guilty to the charge. Ian Taylor had been with Jagex since 1999 and has composed a majority of the game’s soundtrack.
In a statement to NME, Jagex confirmed that Taylor had been fired from the company when the allegations came to light earlier this year. An internal investigation had been conducted into any interactions with staff and players, and apparently no further action was warranted.
Taylor will be monitored by police for ten years following his release from prison and be listed on the sex offender registry for the same period.
