Lineage W is here. Well not here but here. If you live in roughly a bakers dozen countries including Korea it is here, but if you live in North America, Europe, Russia, and the rest of the world it is decidedly not here. Lineage W is the latest mobile release of Lineage from NCSoft, makers of Lineage, Lineage 2, Lineage M, Lineage 2M, and Lineage The Flamethrower. The game’s release has been anticipated and feared by all parties within and outside of NCSoft following the disastrous launch of Blade & Soul 2 back in August.
Since then NCSoft has committed to Lineage W launching without pay to win mechanics or predatory monetization. We’ll see about that. NCSoft’s stock has recovered slightly since hitting its floor, but remains well below its pre-August drop.
