Now you can play Xbox games from the cloud on your Xbox.
Following a limited test phase, Microsoft announced today the rollout of Xbox cloud gaming on Xbox hardware. Starting today Game Pass Ultimate members will have access to streaming versions of a set number of games playable from their home consoles without the need to download all that data and do that patching first.
Previously this feature was available on PC and mobile.
Today you can play Game Pass games from the cloud on your Xbox console. We’re excited that Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is now available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription. We are launching in 25 regions with Brazil coming soon. This capability will initially roll out with our November release to a subset of Xbox gamers and scale to all gamers in supported markets over the coming weeks.
The news means that gamers who haven’t upgraded their systems yet will be able to play certain Xbox Series X games on their Xbox One consoles, such as Recompile and The Medium. As more games become available via streaming, that list will only increase.
