Final Fantasy XIV Sales/Trial Suspended

Until server congestion is relieved.

If you haven’t already bought Final Fantasy XIV, you won’t be able to for a while. Square Enix announced today that as part of their war on server instability, Final Fantasy XIV will be removed from sale for a short period of time. This specifically applies to the starter and complete editions, so those who own the game should still be able to buy expansions.

In addition to the suspension of sales, free trial players will be limited when they can log in and new registrations for trial players have been suspended as well.

Players are currently experiencing extremely long wait times due to the dense concentration of play hours which far exceed our server capacity, especially during the peak times, and so we have decided to temporarily suspend the sale and delivery of FINAL FANTASY XIV Starter Edition and Complete Edition. Additionally, although those with an active subscription are prioritized to log in, Free Trial players are unable to log in outside of late night and early morning hours, and so we will also temporarily suspend new registrations for the Free Trial.

Subscribers will also be a little happier to know that they will receive an additional 14 days of subscription time in addition to the 7 already handed out.
