Awards $150,000 in damages.
Today’s story might relieve or frustrate our readers depending on how far you wanted this to go. Back in November we wrote about Roblox filing a lawsuit against Benjamin Robert Simon over accusations that the latter had repeatedly circumvented Roblox bans in order to post racist, homophobic, and anti-semetic messages, harass users, threaten staff, and more. Rather than go to trial, it appears that both sides agreed to a settlement.
In a settlement posted this month, Simon is permanently restrained from posting threatening messages to Roblox employees, making false statements, accessing Roblox, coming within 100 feet of the Roblox headquarters, and making content that glamorizes violating Roblox rules. Simon must also remove all content that violates the agreed terms, and must pay $150,000 to Roblox.
