Among new government data access requirements.
If you live in Indonesia, you’re probably waking up this morning and realizing that access to Steam and a few other services is no longer possible. This comes under relatively new regulations passed by the Indonesian government allowing authorities to compel platform holders for user information, and giving authority to take down content that “disturbs public order” in a very small time span.
The deadline for registering compliance under the new rules was apparently due on Friday with those failing to register having access cut off from within the company starting today. Among the list of services no longer available in Indonesia, Valve joins Epic Games along with Paypal, Yahoo, and a whole host of other services. The list of registered businesses can be found here.
