Welcome To Fort Battle Pass.
Diablo IV’s battle pass seems a little dirty to me, because while the pass now gives 700 platinum instead of the funny meme 666 number, it’s still just short of the price of the pass itself and we all know why they are doing that. There’s also the obvious problem of Blizzard throwing all the good cosmetics into the overprice cash shop.
You know what? Bigger fish to fry.
But we are about a week into the launch of season 2 and I am already level 50 and finished chapter 3 of the season journey and level 25 of the battle pass, meaning either the experience has been sped up or I’m being a lot more efficient. Probably both.

Season 2 feels like a direct response to people who complained about having not enough stuff to do in the last season, because boy howdy is there stuff to do. In addition to the usual grind you get a season-long “hunter’s acclaim” board that you gain reputation in by simply doing stuff in the harvest zone. It’s a separate leveling system and a way of getting more gear thrown at you.
I really like that the blood harvest zones are constantly present somewhere on the map. And not only that, but that your blood/keys persist between the zone moving across the map. It makes obvious sense from a design point of view; you want people to play the game. So one of the goals should be to waste less of their time.

I still like the look of the Awoken armor from season 1, and I’ve been rocking that most of this season so far. The horse you get at level one is pretty neat and the blood portal ain’t that bad look either.
The fact that item and level grinding in this season is faster also isn’t something I’m looking down on. As the seasons go on, Blizzard is naturally going to make progression faster because that’s how you hopefully stem people burning out who might otherwise not come back to level a new character every few months.
I hope they introduce rebirthing because man it’s going to be a pain in the ass once leveling is really fast and character slots fill up fast.
