Jagex is killing off Kourend favour in Old School RuneScape and you’re either celebrating or lamenting its upcoming loss if you play the game. Kourend is one of Old School RuneScape’s continents, and since its launch in 2016 much of the content has been delegated around raising favour with the various factions unlocking access to more activities.
In the most recent blog post, Jagex talks about new activities coming to the game in 2024 but also notes that the favour system is going away fully. It made sense when the content released, not so much anymore.
First of all, let’s talk about the Favour system – or more accurately, herald its demise! Kourend is now in a much healthier place than it was on first release, and the Favour system just doesn’t add much anymore. Prior to the release of Varlamore – early 2024 if all goes well – we want to completely remove it.
