MMOrning Shots: Aion Infographic

aion_birthdaystatistik_en

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from Aion, where Gameforge and NCSoft have tossed together an infographic detailing the two year anniversary of the game’s transition to free to play. With over seven million characters created with a combined play time of sixty six thousand years, Aion’s most popular class is the Gladiator and Sorcerer. Since its transition to free to play, Aion has seen massive updates to the core game experience including the addition of housing and mounts, not to mention two new classes. Players are also capable of playing in Spanish, Italian, Polish, Turkish, alongside English, French, and German.

Aion’s 4.5 update will introduce the second Engineer specialization, not to mention a number of other content additions. Check it out when it hits Europe on April 9th.

MMOrning Shots: Everquest 14th Anniversary

Anniversary_Big_Gnomes

Today’s MMOrning shot comes from Everquest, in celebration of the game’s fourteenth anniversary. Yes, in two more years Everquest will be of legal driving age, and then presumably will be able to pick up the pizza you ordered through /pizza in-game.

MMOrning Shots is a (somewhat) daily line of screenshots from various MMOs. If you would like your screenshot featured, send it over to contact[at]mmofallout[dot]com with the subject “MMorning Shots.”

Darkfall Anniversary Sale: $9

Welcome Committee!

Darkfall is one of those games that comes around and defies all authority by, yes, having one of the worst launches in recent history (with the game being unbuyable for a good while post-launch), but taking those startup issues, beating them over the head with a brick, and throwing the dead bodies into a lake. That was two years ago, and Darkfall continues to defy the predictions of trolls by pushing out regular content updates, including an upcoming reshaping of the world.

In celebration of the game’s second anniversary, Aventurine is putting Darkfall on sale for $9 USD and Euro, until April 1st. In addition, the three month subscription is now on sale for $24.95 (Three for the price of one and two thirds). Topping off this sale is the addition of 25,000 meditation points for those who resubscribe in March or create new accounts. The points may be lost if you have too many saved up, so Aventurine is recommending that players use up some of their existing points:

Note: Don’t claim the points if you don’t have room for them, for example, if you already have more than 75 thousand points in your account. If you do, then you should work some off to make room for your free points. Meditation points are non-refundable.

More on Darkfall as it appears. This sale runs through to the end of the month.
