MMOrning Shots: Phoebe Rising

EVE_Online_Phoebe_Force_Projection_Changes

Today’s MMOrning Shots comes to us from Eve Online, showing off the Phoebe expansion. With the introduction of jump fatigue, players and corporations alike will now have to think strategically when they set up supply lines, get into battles far away from home, and jump in on battles. As part of the update, players will now find that their 24-hour start time limitation has been removed for skills, allowing pilots to map out and train skills for months and years ahead.

You can find more information on Phoebe at the official patch notes, and more MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Signs From Above

LOD 2014-10-09 23-58-18-00

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from Line of Defense, where there appears to be a war going on in the stars. A star war, if you catch my drift. What I’m saying is that those clouds look like a Star Destroyer in battle with a rebel ship, which is either unintentional, a well placed easter egg, or the product of my overactive imagination.

Imagine all the MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Because Face

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from ArcheAge, and answers the question asked by every single one of the six people who asked me, what does my ArcheAge character look like under that helmet in my Twitter profile? Now you know.

Check out MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Reaper Of Souls

feature

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from RuneScape, for today’s Grim Reaper update. Soul Reaper tasks players with culling the world’s population of boss monsters for the Grim Reaper, in return for points that can be spent on rewards. Rewards include various items and buffs to assist players and make death less punishing.

Survive to the next MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Bioshock Nostalgia

bioshock_online_april

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from 2K Games. Bioshock released in 2007 on PC and Xbox 360, but the screenshot above was sent out more than a year prior. Later this summer, you’ll be able to get your hands on Bioshock on your iPhone or iPad.

Nostalgia it up with MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Dino Day

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from The World II, showing off just about the coolest boss I have seen in an MMO. I present you with Mecha-Rex.

Mecha-Rex seems like your typical Tyrannosaurus-Rex that you probably have seen in other games. We however upped the ante by including a large sharp spiked tail on Mecha-Rex and a large photon gun in his mouth! He’s already ready for action and sure to make his enemies extinct.

The World II reminds me a bit of an MMO version of Monster Hunter, a game that ditches mini-monsters in favor of 80 giant creatures. You’ll be able to choose from 30 heroes at launch. Check out more at the group’s IndieDB page.

And blast your way through MMOrning Shots every Mecha-Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Gorilla Warfare

what

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from RuneScape, where Jagex has teamed up with the Unity for Wildlife charity and United for Rhino campaign to help raise awareness for illegal poaching. Over the course of the next two weeks, players will be able to answer daily rhino questions. Answer four of them correctly and adopt your very own white rhino. Get ten questions and you’ll have a black rhino to hug and squeeze and call George.

Save MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

MMOrning Shots: Cthulhu Slumbers Again

2014-07-04_00005

Today’s MMOrning Shot comes to us from The Secret World, where I’ve managed to make my way past the core game content and into Issue #1 without ever finishing the first dungeon. Call me lazy, but I’ve always found The Secret World’s grouping system to be a major pain in the rear. Couple that with the fact that I don’t always play during peak hours and the admitted lack of players queueing for early game dungeons, and today was the first chance I had with qualified healer.

I’ll be heading back to Transylvania to deal with the king of all vampires, and by that I mean Luis Suarez. Get your blood drained by MMOrning Shots every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
