Neverwinter Hits 15 Million Players Across 3 Systems

Neverwinter has plenty of reasons to celebrate today as the MMO announces that it has reached 15 million customers across PC, Xbox, and Playstation. Perfect World Entertainment has released a video thanking the community, embedded below.

Since its original launch in June 2013, Neverwinter has continued to receive expansions, bringing exciting and diverse content from the Forgotten Realms and Dungeons & Dragons lore. From defeating the elven lich Valindra Shadowmantle to facing off against monstrous demon lords in the Underdark and going toe-to-toe with frost giants in Icewind Dale, adventurers continue to experience the Forgotten Realms with players around the world. The Cloaked Ascendancy, now available on all platforms, marks the 11th major content expansion to the action MMO.

Star Trek Online: Season 12 Hits Consoles

Perfect World Entertainment has released Season 12 of Star Trek Online: Reckoning for Xbox One and Playstation 4. The update introduces players to a dangerous new race, the Tzenkethi.

Season 12 – Reckoning continues the mission from the last major expansion to release on consoles, Agents of Yesterday. Captains have discovered an abandoned space station from Star Trek: The Original Series next to a remote planet in the Alpha Quadrant. Upon further investigation they learn the planet’s entire life force has been wiped out by a protomatter bomb. All signs point to the Tzenkethi as the culprit, a powerful and highly intelligent warp-capable species. Captains must now team up with the Lukari and a Klingon contingent led by General Rodek (voiced by actor Tony Todd) to stop the Tzenkethi forces from carrying out another cataclysmic attack.

Reckoning introduces a brand new feature episode, Of Signs and Portents, as well as a new crafting school, space queues, and reputation with the Lukari Restoration Initiative. With this update, console players will be back up to date with PC players.

Neverwinter Dumps Windows XP And Old Video Cards

Neverwinter joins the growing list of games dropping support for older versions of Windows, as with today’s update the client will no longer support Windows XP and video cards that don’t meet a certain Direct3D benchmark. The update was announced back in December as an effort to improve game performance and optimize the player experience.

As of this build, Neverwinter can no longer support the Windows XP operating system, or video cards with a Direct3D Hardware Feature Level less than 10.0.

Neverwinter Launches the Cloaked Ascendancy On PC

The world is slowing down, or at least that’s what the song in Neverwinter’s latest expansion told me. The Cloaked Ascendancy sees the city of Neverwinter once again under attack from external threats. It is up to you, the adventurer, to delve into the River District to fight back the Cloaked Ascendancy and once again keep the world safe from harm.

The campaign content this time around involves reclaiming the River District from the Cloaked Ascendancy and returning it to its former glory, before returning to the Spellplague Caverns Dungeon to bring the fight to the enemy. Along with the new adventure zone and dungeons, players will also be able to get their hands on artifact weaponry.

The Cloaked Ascendancy is available today on PC with console launch coming later this year.
