H1Z1 Launches Season 7 On PS4; Brings Back Z2 Map

The battle pass is terrible.

This week brings in Season 7 of H1Z1 on Playstation 4, and what better way to show that Daybreak is listening to player demands by bringing back the much-demanded Z2 map? The classic Z2 map was replaced some time ago much to the dismay of many players.

But it is back!

Now it’s time to get to the part everyone is waiting for; how bad of an investment is the Battle Pass this season? And the answer is not as bad as Season 6 but not anywhere near good as it could be.

The normal (free) tier contains:

  • 5 random locked crate
  • 50 credits
  • Urban Cameo Razorback (truck skin)

So a worthless amount of credits (cheapest item currently on the shop is 450 credits), a single skin, and five crates you’ll have to pay $2.50 in order to actually open. Awesome.

The PS+ track will get you:

  • 9 random locked crates
  • Blue Storm Razorback (truck skin)

So another $4.50 you’ll need to pay to actually unlock the rewards and a truck skin. And finally, the $5 battle pass will get you:

  • Urban Commando Ghillie Suit
  • 6 Razorback skin
  • 9 XP boost
  • 475 crowns
  • 7 random locked crate

I actually double checked to be sure, but the premium track gives you just enough crowns to get within shooting range of the next battle pass assuming it is also 500 crowns, but just low enough that you’ll still need to buy another $5 worth of crowns. Pretty sneaky sis.

So all in all, the $5 battle pass gets you 21 locked crates (so you get to spend double the battle pass cost on actually unlocking all of the rewards), 8 new skins for your Razorback truck, $4.75 worth of crowns, some xp boosts, and a ghillie suit skin.
