Guild Wars 2 Suffers European-Style Rollback

ArenaNet is looking into it.

Update: ArenaNet has managed to get servers back to early Monday morning. All players who are missing items are recommended to submit a customer support tickets.

As part of the fix, we have restored all EU player accounts to their standing at roughly 2:40 AM PT on May 11. We’re continuing to help players who are still missing items, or who made gem purchases or in-game transactions after that point. Please check your account carefully. If you find that you are still missing items or account progress, submit a ticket and Customer Support will help you as soon as possible.

Original Story: Guild Wars 2 players are not happy, specifically players in Europe. A fair number of them are waking up this morning to find that their progress over the weekend had been nullified which in some cases means characters getting deleted, progress reset, items lost that were purchased, and more. Anything done since Saturday morning.

The bad news is that it looks like the EU Guild Wars 2 servers suffered a major breakdown over the weekend and reverted everyone to a backup from Saturday. The ArenaNet Twitter account has acknowledged the issue and stated that the server team is looking into it.

As for what can be recovered, that is unknown at this time. ArenaNet is currently working on a solution. Evidently this has not impacted North American players.
