Bungie Teases Season of the Chosen

Coming soon to Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 gears up for the Season of the Chosen this month and Bungie released their plans for how the next few months will run. Overall the story seems to be headed toward that Cabal alliance we’ve been hearing about for a while now.

With the Pyramids and Xivu Arath destabilizing the system, Empress Caiatl, leader of the Cabal and daughter of Calus, seeks an alliance. But when she demands more than Zavala can offer, negotiations collapse, and Guardians must become the tip of the spear that strikes at her growing war council.

Good luck pronouncing Caiatl. The new season introduces the Battlegrounds activity, a three player matchmaking mode where players engage in ritual combat against Caiatl’s warriors. Three Vanguard Strikes also enter the mix, freely available to all players.

Over 25 sunset weapons are being added back into the loot pool along with a new exotic quest (details redacted) and a new exotic bow, Ticuu’s Divination. The bow can apparently track multiple targets. The seasonal artifact is the Bell of Conquests. Players may be happier to hear that Umbral Engrams are back and will once again be used to power a seasonal machine that can tune those engrams into things you’d rather have.
