Bronze version comes with stuff, but less stuff.
Lost Ark is the MMOARPG that everyone seems to really love, and while the game itself won’t be out for another few months it has not been without controversy. While the game will be free to play, a number of founders packs have gone up for sale on Steam. According to the folks at Amazon Games, some users were “exploiting” regional pricing to obtain packs for cheaper prices.
By exploiting they mean buying it through that region. As a result, Amazon made the decision to centralize all prices across the board. Which is code word for “it got more expensive everywhere except the United States.” Depending on your region, the price hike is pretty massive. The cost of the silver package in Turkish Lira went from 77 to 228, while the Mexican Peso price went from $499 to $963. If you’re in Switzerland you’ll be paying an extra 50 cents.
To compensate, Lost Ark is offering a bronze founder’s pack that is cheaper and evidently regionally priced, but doesn’t include in-game currency.
We understand there are players that live in countries where regional pricing is important, especially for entry level participation, so we will be offering a new Bronze Founder’s Pack to give more purchase options to our players in all territories. The Bronze Founder’s Pack does not include in-game currency but will come stocked with core benefits like Closed Beta access, a 3-day head start at launch, the exclusive Founder’s pet, and more.
Make of this what you will, a lot of people aren’t very happy.
