Not a lot, certainly not everything.
38 Studios is like Haley’s Comet, it appears once every number of years to remind us that yes it was a thing. Curt Schilling’s fraudulent venture may have shut down nine years ago, but employees are finally receiving a portion of their final paychecks this month. According to Bloomberg, staff are receiving only a small portion of what they are owed after a bankruptcy court ruling earlier this year.
Many of the staff who worked for the volatile game developer in either its Rhode Island or Maryland offices will receive payment of about 14% or 20%, respectively, of what the company owed them before it ran out of money and was forced to shut down on May 24, 2012, according to bankruptcy documents.
See you in five years for the next 38 Studios story.
