Sure Ubisoft already has a battle royale title in the form of Hyper Scape, but the management has been asking themselves “what about second battle royale?” This week Ubisoft announced the next title bearing the Ghost Recon name, Ghost Recon Frontline. The free to play title goes into beta later this month for European gamers and sees 100+ players dropped into Drakemoor island to shoot each other in the face while avoiding getting shot in the face, until the last person with no bullets in their face remains standing.
Gamers can look forward to a class-based title with three classes at launch, as well as a leveling system providing upgrades and customization for each class. Ubisoft’s description of the base game mode simply mentions “more than 100 players” without giving an exact maximum.
“We can’t wait to see players’ reactions during the first test of Ghost Recon Frontline. We will be working hard to adjust the game accordingly throughout the several live phases planned before launch, as we want to deliver the most polished and entertaining experience possible for players.” said – Bogdan Bridinel, Creative Director at Ubisoft Bucharest.
