Servers to come down November 15.
Today’s news comes to us from Tencent, where it appears Fortnite’s venture into China is coming to an end. According to a post on the official Fortnite QQ website, new registrations for Fortnite will end on November 1 with servers coming down on the 15.
Interestingly the notice refers to the Chinese version as a “test.” No specific reason for the shutdown has been given, but speculation likely points toward the recent aggressive policies against video game companies. The Chinese government recently instituted policies restricting gameplay time for minors, and brought game approval to a halt to put forth aggressive demands for in-game content.
