Makes Steam Deck compatibility much easier.
When it comes to the Steam Deck, one of the biggest hurdles regarding game compatibility has been related to Easy Anti-Cheat, with Epic’s own Tim Sweeney making several claims in the past that the company was working on maximizing compatibility. Today Epic announced expanded anti-cheat support for Proton, Linux, and Mac.
To make it easy for developers to ship their games across PC platforms, support for the Wine and Proton compatibility layers on Linux is included. Starting with the latest SDK release, developers can activate anti-cheat support for Linux via Wine or Proton with just a few clicks in the Epic Online Services Developer Portal.
Developers looking to expand support should check out the developer page.
