As game drops below 20k concurrent.
New World is preparing to annihilate its server count. In a message posted to the official forums, the folks at Amazon Games laid out plans for upcoming server mergers to take place on Friday. That’s this Friday, July 22.
US East is merging eight servers down to four while Europe’s central database is getting the hardest hit with seventeen servers being merged down to six. US West will bring four servers down to two, with South America being left with one single server standing. Similarly, Australia will have one server available after the merge.
This all comes on a month where New World is hitting consistently below twenty thousand concurrent players on Steam. The question at this point is, is there anything left to salvage for New World’s long term viability? The tea leaves are not looking positive.
