Dark and Darker Puts Kibosh On Multiclass (For Now)

Insert subheader here.

Dark and Darker, everyone’s favorite PvPvE extraction game to get sued by Nexon, has some bad news. Or some good news, if you thought the multiclass system sucked. If you haven’t been reading the headlines, the news is that the multiclass system is being put on the backburner for the time being.

The news is a couple weeks old. As announced on Discord:

We’d like to thank everyone for helping us with our multiclass test. In accordance with our previous announcement, we have now removed the multiclass system. Although the experiment was crazy and chaotic, we learned a lot from the test, especially under the hood. We will put what we learned into building a better more traditional training and multiclass system in the future. We’ll let you know more about that system when we have the details ready.

This week’s update also changes how players are rewarded for making it out of high-roller dungeons with loot intact, as well as some changes to matchmaking. Skill-based matchmaking no longer uses average gear score but instead the highest gear in the group.

Ironmace recently apologized for what they called a tough season, promising better things for the future.

We understand that it was tough this season, but as we reflect on all that we’ve learned from the experience, and look forwards to everything in store, we have very high hopes for the future. We hope to share more information regarding the upcoming season in a couple weeks. We thank you for your patience and understanding. See you in the dungeons!
