I have good news and bad news. The good news is that Runefest is probably coming back. The bad news is that it won’t be coming back for a little bit longer. The news was made public by Jagex earlier this week, revealing that the event is being postponed due to the insolvency of the host Player1 Events.
With our sights set on RuneFest returning in 2024 we engaged Player1 Events, an experienced event supplier specialising in gaming events. Player1 Events’ flagship event was the Insomnia Gaming Festival, one of the UK’s most loved gaming events for the past 25 years, and their expertise was central in our decision to bring them onboard as the core delivery partner for RuneFest.
According to the announcement, Jagex is planning to host an event in early 2025, but no details have been cemented at this time. All tickets will transfer to the new event, with refunds being offered for those who want/need them.
