In May.
The news that Riders of Icarus is shutting down shouldn’t come as a surprise to, well, anyone. It isn’t the first time this game has bought the farm, including a crypto scam version hosted on the Wemix platform that very quickly rug-pulled the few hundred people stupid enough to spend money on it.
The WeMade/Valofe version on Steam is shutting down now. Again. In an announcement on the Steam news page, the folks at Valofe revealed that the game will be closing its doors on May 15, 2025. Evidently the news caught the development team by surprise, because they were still posting about upcoming content plans as of this month.
With a heavy heart, we must announce that Riders of Icarus will be shutting down its servers and ending service on [May 15, 2025]. This was not an easy decision, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for the time, dedication, and passion you’ve shown in the world of Midellas.
If you spent money on Riders of Icarus recently and feel ripped off, I highly recommend contacting Steam support to see if they can refund any of it.
And if you paid directly through Valofe, consider contacting your credit card issuer about a fraud chargeback.
