CCP Games Launches Eve Academy

One thing all new MMO gamers want is to go to school.

Eve Online is notoriously friendly to new players, and for an extra $100 I’ll try to say that with a straight face. CCP Games has problems retaining new players in the Eve Online universe, given 90% of new players quit within a week and don’t look back. How do you fix that? Send their new player butts to school.

CCP Games this week announced Eve Academy, a learning tool containing a wealth of information for new players to decide what they want to be in New Eden. Overwhelmed by information certainly one of those potential goals.

In EVE Academy you will find links to four career paths representing some of the high-level objectives and gameplay styles to aim for as an Explorer, Industrialist, Enforcer (PvE) or Soldier of Fortune (PvP). Within each path you’ll get skill plans, beginner ship fitting examples, and curated links to resources created by the EVE Online community. There’s much more to check out so head over and see how the Academy can help you excel at anything in EVE Online.
