MMO Rant: New Frontier Is Abandoned, No Updates In Six Months

Free Reign Entertainment’s latest fraud is abandoned.

Free Reign Entertainment is a company that we here at MMO Fallout would happily donate a year’s worth of earnings to charity for Sergey Titov to leave the industry and never come back. While my disdain for Sergey Titov and the fact that the man is an incompetent shyster who has been repackaging the same shovelware trash zombie game for seven years now has been explained more times than I can imagine, I always look for an opportunity to remind my viewers of the most talentless fraud to ever write code.

If you haven’t been paying attention, Titov’s shell companies have been cycling through games one after another for the past seven years. I’m fairly certain that the goal is to suck as much money out of them as they can during the alpha period only to abandon the game shortly after it actually releases.

New Frontier is the hack fraud reboot to Wild West Online which was itself a barely functioning piece of shovelware. New Frontier launched on December 27, 2019 according to Steam and its last patch was on March 17. The game is nowhere near finished. It is not even close to feature complete. It runs horribly, is riddled with bugs, and the community is essentially dead. In short, it’s exactly what you would expect for a Free Reign Entertainment game ten months out of launch.

Now that it’s been six months since the last patch, that would mean that New Frontier received a whole four months of Free Reign pretending that they cared before throwing in the towel and presumably starting work on their next lazy shovelware swindle operation. I am of course talking about Outbreak: New Dawn.

Outbreak: New Dawn is Sergey Titov once again releasing a version of The War Z with negligible improvements. The good news is that Free Reign’s latest endeavors appear to be embarrassing failures. New Frontier’s battle royale spinoff Magnificent 5 was dead from day one and when I opened up Outbreak in the evening on a Saturday and the morning on a Sunday I found a whole two people playing.

I briefly considered showcasing Outbreak: New Dawn earlier this year after discovering that despite claiming on Discord that all coverage was under NDA, that Free Reign hadn’t actually included an NDA for the player to sign, or any indication in their license agreements or terms of service that one existed. A new spectacle in incompetence. But then I realized that it would mean giving them money so I waited for the free launch.

Outbreak’s Steam release has been delayed extensively thanks to Free Reign Entertainment’s incompetence and it apparently isn’t coming anytime soon, but don’t you worry. It will be on the Steam store and barely functional before you know it. The only over-under here is how long after launch before Free Reign abandons this game and moves on to the next cookie cutter zombie shovelware title?

Other than that I have no opinion on the matter.
