Steam: Five Games Everyone Wants This Week 11/8 Edition

We list the games everyone is looking forward to.

Sunday is upon us and that means another week of upcoming Steam releases. As part of MMO Fallout’s increasing push towards positive coverage the weekly rundown of retirements/bans will be replaced by a list of upcoming games everyone wants to play. Specifically these are the games that are attracting followers that some of you might still not know about.

Observer: System Redux – November 10

Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be releasing until the year 2077 at this rate, but for now you can still play games set in the dismal future of cybernetic dystopia. Observer puts you in the role of the late Rutger Hauer who in turn is playing Daniel Lazarski, an Observer. Your job is to go into the minds of suspects to bring out the truth in deadly crimes.

It sounds like Cyberpunk 2077, Psychonauts, and LA Noire had a child together. The original 2017 Observer has been pulled from sale with this version taking over. Original owners on Steam were able to grab an 80% discount on this release up until September 15.

Newcomers get the chance to experience one of the most thrilling cyberpunk stories in all its next-gen glory: boasting 4K resolution, upgraded textures, new animations, models and effects, and transformed with jaw-dropping Ray-Tracing and HDR lighting.

Paw Paw Paw – November 13

Paw Paw Paw comes out November 13 by Simpleton and published by GrabTheGames. A side-scrolling beat em up where you play as a plucky resistance group fighting back against the evil king and his proclamation that citizens must wear pants. Paw Paw Paw was expected to release much earlier but due to unrevealed reasons the release was pushed all the way back to November.

Prodeus Early Access – November 9

Prodeus is launching into Early Access on Monday, November 9. In development by Bounding Box Software and published by Humble Games, Prodeus is a first person shooter heavily inspired by retro games of the same genre. The team has yet to actually reveal the price; that won’t be known until the game launches on Monday.

“The current version has a 3-5 hour single player campaign, a large variety of weapons and monsters to blow up, a full-featured level editor, and an integrated community workshop to share and play user created maps and campaigns for nearly limitless content. Updates and improvements will be added as we make progress.”

Rune II: Decapitation Edition – November 13

Rune II is one of 2020’s more controversial titles. It launched one year ago on the Epic Games Store and almost immediately developer Human Head Studios shut down and reformed under a new Bethesda branch. Publisher Ragnarok Games LLC scrambled to form a new studio to take over the game in the form of 369 Studios, and now Rune II is finally getting out of its Epic exclusivity and coming to Steam in the form of Rune II: Decapitation Edition.

With some spicy digs at the old developer:

Abandoned and sabotaged by the original developers, RUNE II was left in a state of disarray. Raised from the ashes by Studio 369, the game has now emerged for a Steam launch as a re-envisioned story of betrayal, rebirth and revenge. Severing that old human head has freed RUNE II and it is now a glorious Viking adventure.

Rune II is an open world combat game set during viking times.

XIII – November 10

XIII is a game that needs no introduction, unless you’re one of the people who didn’t buy it the first time around and caused it to undersell. Those people might need more detail. XIII is a remake of the cult-first person shooter released in the Gamecube era of 2003. You are XIII, an assassin who finds himself with amnesia and target numero uno in the assassination conspiracy that killed President Sheridan.

The art style is heavily based on the comic that the story is spawned from, and you even get good old David Duchovny’s bored voice acting returning from the old days. You also can’t forget the late Adam West playing General Carrington. For a touch of nostalgia you can also get your hands on the original XIII classic which was recently re-released on digital platforms.
