Kakao Games has shown a glimpse of the exciting upcoming naval content that will be added to Black Desert Online in Q4 of this year. This free expansion will raise the bar of what is possible in current day MMORPGs.
The update will expand the already massive world of Black Desert and introduce new gameplay features. Players will venture out on the sea for exploration, establish trade routes, seek treasure, hunt monsters and experience full-scale naval warfare.

Black Desert Online Previews Ninja/Kunoichi Classes

Black Desert Online is previewing its July 20th update, introducing the ninja and kunoichi classes as announced by Kakao Games (Formerly Daum). The update also introduces a skill addon system, allowing attacks to be customized with up to two effects.
Prior to this update on the 20th, Black Desert Online players will see the launch of node and siege warfare on July 17th. Patch notes are available on the main forums.
The Ninja is an agile close-quarters combatant. With dashes, aerial skills, and even teleportation, Ninjas can get up close to their opponents alarmingly fast. Designed to land precise, deadly strikes, both the Ninja and Kunoichi can conceal themselves until the time is right. When in a tight spot, Ninjas can also make use of stun and debuff techniques to regain the upper hand.
The Kunoichi fights in much the same style as the Ninja but specializes in deflecting attacks with her trusty Kunai. A defensive force to be reckoned with, the Kunoichi uses her sharp senses to execute perfectly timed blocks before landing devastating counterattacks.
Black Desert Online Is Also Banning Cheaters

Cheaters in Black Desert Online beware, Daum is following in the footsteps of other developers in reaffirming that players who break the rules will be dealt with swiftly and without prejudice. With complaints regularly being lobbied against the developer for failing to act on bots and hackers, Daum has announced that bans will now be conducted in waves, and will be permanent.
Greetings Adventurers,
While the vast majority of the community consists of honest players, some users did resort to cheating by using bots and hacking tools. This kind of behavior is a violation of our Terms of Use and not tolerated by us. After an investigation phase, where we made sure to collect all required details, we will now start banning those individuals on a bigger scale.
Starting today we will ban bot and cheating tool users in waves.
Banning waves will take place in regular intervals and we will continue banning as long as we find cheaters.
There is no coming back for convicted cheaters. Bans are permanent.

Cheat Makers Are Still Shady, Black Desert Online Botters Figure Out

Here at MMO Fallout, I’ve made several attempts to warn people of the dangers of downloading bot software and doing business with gold farmers in online games. Not only do you risk the safety of your accounts, but you also take a chance of having your computer compromised and your identity stolen. Gold farmers, it may surprise you, have a heavy hand in actual crime, and I’m not talking about selling gold to teenagers/adults who feel inadequate in their electronic wealth. I’m talking about people who deal in actual stolen credit cards and often steal from their own customers.
Such is the case, once again, as botters in Black Desert Online recently found out that a popular program was bugged with a keylogger. Users are logging into their accounts to find their characters wiped and items stolen. Hopefully this will serve as a lesson for players looking to get ahead through illegitimate means, but given past history it is only a matter of time before the next incident.

Black Desert Online Community Votes In Pathing

Daum has posed a simple question to its players: Would you like it to be possible to auto-path allowing players to level up stats while away from their keyboard?
We wanted to put up a simple poll to get an idea of how many people would like to see the Auto-Path Loop feature added to our version. For those who have not seen this feature, it allows you to make a series of marks on the map that create a green pathing line, once laid out your character will follow this course repeatedly. If you do this with a mount you are given the option to auto eat carrots to keep your horses stamina up. Overall this mechanic allows you to level your breath, strength, and horse while AFK.
So far, 84% of the voters have replied yes, more than two thousand as of this article being published. The proposal has been applauded by many as an alternative to reduce the tedium of training the associated stats, as well as allowing merchants to train horses to higher levels to make them more available on the open market.

Credit Card Fraud Hits Black Desert Online

If you were looking to give the gift of cash shop items in Black Desert Online, you’re out of luck. Due to rampant credit card fraud, Black Desert Online will no longer allow cash shop items to be gifted. In a post on the official forums, Daum Games also announced that players purchasing from gold selling services will be “sanctioned accordingly.”
Due to abuse and credit card fraud by third parties (gold sellers and others) we will shut down the gifting feature in our cash shop. All players who purchased items/silver from those services will be inquired and sanctioned accordingly.
As a commodity that already finds itself in the grey area of the law, gold farmers and credit card fraud are two pieces that often come packaged together, using stolen cards to traffic in goods at no cost to themselves, with the funds inevitably reversed at the developer’s expense. The practice has been growing in selling CD keys purchased off of gaming websites with stolen credit cards, causing numerous developers to begin disabling associated keys.

Black Desert Online Reduces Costume Prices 10%
MMORPG.com is reporting that costume prices in Black Desert Online will be reduced by 10% in response to community criticism over high prices. Currently in beta, Daum Games has taken heavy backlash on its forums over the perception that its prices for cash shop items were too high, with costumes going for as much as $32. According to associate editor Suzie Ford, Daum has confirmed that prices will drop by 10%, with the publisher keeping an eye on community feedback in order to continue tweaking its pricing for the future.
The announcement has been met with mixed reception by the Black Desert Online community, with some praising the developer’s response as others decry prices as still being too high after the reduction. Whether or not the new prices will inspire customers to pony up for costumes and pets will have to be seen when the game goes live in the coming weeks.
