Icebrood Saga Comes To Guild Wars 2 Next Week


Guild Wars 2 is set to release the first episode in the Icebrood Saga on November 19. The episode is titled Whisper in the Dark and introduces new gameplay systems and activities for players to cut their teeth on.

  • A new map, the Bjora Marches
  • Four new multi-tier Mastery tracks fueled by norn spirit magic: Essence Manipulation and Raven Attunement
  • Three new Strike Mission bosses, including the grim and sinister Boneskinner, that rotate weekly and provide unique rewards for players who defeat them
  • A new two-tier upgradable Ancient Boreal weapon set
  • A new Raven-inspired exotic scepter skin
  • A campfire s’mores roasting kit

Guild Wars 2 Teases New Living World Chapter


ArenaNet this week dropped new information about the next chapter in the Guild Wars 2 living world story. The Icebrood Saga is the newest collection of episodic content and opens up on September 17 with the prologue episode, Bound By Blood with episode one releasing later on in the autumn.

The Icebrood Saga marks the beginning of a new adventure in Guild Wars 2’s storyline. It is a time of tentative celebration for all the races of Tyria in the wake of the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik’s heroic defeat by the members of Dragon’s Watch. But whispers from the Northern Shiverpeaks tell tales of ancient forces stirring from their slumber. While the Sons of Svanir—a renegade cult of norn who have turned away from worshipping the Spirits of the Wild—devote themselves to the elder ice dragon Jormag, stories of the dragon’s strength and virtues begin to spread alongside its corrupting influence.

Yea, in case you thought the story was going somewhere other than an elder dragon. ArenaNet also announced new partnerships for upcoming collector’s goodies including a 20th anniversary art book, new apparel, phone cases, and more.

Today’s video comes to us from ArenaNet, who this week are teasing the next episode in the Guild Wars 2 Living World season. The trailer doesn’t give away much, including a release date which is yet to be released.

Guild Wars 2 Launches Season 4 With Daybreak Episode


The latest Living World season has begun in Guild Wars 2. Taking place after the event of the Path of Fire expansion, Guild Wars 2 continues the world story as the player faces a new present threat, the elder dragon Kralkatorrick.

  • New Legendary Focus: A relic shrouded in mystery.
  • New Fractal – Twilight Oasis: Journey to the past and witness events that shaped Elona.
  • New Raid – Hall of Chains: An influx of murderous undead relentlessly hunt innocent worshipers of Grenth. Infiltrate the Underworld and join the struggle for control over the fates of the living and the dead.
  • A notable and much-asked-for quality of life improvement:  A new “keys” category has been added to the account wallet, which contains a currency version of several existing items which are used to unlock caches of treasure. These items can be consumed to convert them into the new currencies. Players can find a full list of the new currencies in the patch notes.

Living World episodes release every 2-3 months.
