Mobile revenue down 44% year over year.
Nexon today published their third quarter 2021 financials and the results are definitely attached to monetary values. While total revenues fell 4% under last year’s results, Nexon beat its expectations of ¥71 billion with a total of just under ¥76 billion. While PC revenue increased 24% over last year, mobile revenues plummeted by 44% with operating income up 8% and net income up 132%.
Around the world MapleStory and MapleStory M continue to see big growth.
As a result, for the three months ended September 30, 2021, Nexon Group recorded revenue of ¥75,890 million (down 4.4% year-over-year), operating income of ¥29,835 million (up 8.1% year-over-year), income before income taxes of ¥48,358 million (up 111.2% year-over-year) and net income attributable to owners of the parent company of ¥37,902 million (up 132.1% year-over-year).
The foreseeable future has Nexon releasing a number of titles specifically in Korea and China with a few games including Kartrider Drift and Dynasty Warriors 9 Mobile coming to North America and the rest of the world. Nexon’s full investor presentation can be found here.
