You’ve probably been affected.
If you log in to New World at some point after this article is published you may be greeted with the notification that your character was on a merged server. Following earlier downtime, Amazon has merged a ton of servers in the US, Australia, and Europe.
For players being merged into another server, they’ll find their characters and inventories intact. However the companies that control the towns in the server being merged into will retain control and the companies from the server merging in will lose control. Items in the trading post will be returned to players, however coins paid for taxes and fees will not.
