New World Coming To Consoles This Year

Xbox and PlayStation.

We finally got the big news for New World this week, and that news? Everyone who logs in between a certain date in the future will be able to claim a wolf mount. Oh and I guess people might want to know that the game is launching on consoles.

New World: Aeternum hits Xbox and PlayStation on October 15 for a $60 price tag. The game includes full cross-play and in true Amazon fashion the announcement was so poorly worded that people really have no clue what exactly this release is. Did you know New World has mounts?

Amazon is calling Aeternum a “comprehensive refresh” of New World and it has people wondering if the game is being turned into a single-player title. Because once again Amazon’s ability to clearly and concisely detail a game update just isn’t that great.

The trailer emphasizes the ability to play solo or co-op, but New World is already playable solo. PC players who own the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion will get access to Aeternum for free, but it’s not clear what that means for those who don’t. Will they be on separate clients, separate worlds, etc. It seems like Amazon is pulling an ArcheAge Unchained but it’s not clear right now how they’re going to implement this update.

More information as it appears.
