[NM] Telltale Batman Game Shows Very Real Dead Russian Ambassador [Warning]

(Update: Telltale has stated that the image has been removed and that they are looking into how it ended up in the game to begin with)
(Editor’s Note: In probably the first and hopefully last time on this website, this article contains a photograph of the aftermath of a shooting. There is no blood/gore present in the photo, but this warning will stand nonetheless)
In 2016, Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov was gunned down at an Ankara art gallery by Mevlüt Mert Alt?nta?, an off-duty Turkish police officer. News of the assassination spread like wildfire, and because it occurred during a public speech, there were plenty of cameras present to catch the assassination in action. Photographs taken and posted online have become famous, enough so that one Telltale employee decided to import the image of Andrei Karlov’s body directly into the game. The two versions are copies below, along with a stream (skip to about 24 minutes into the video), you can see that the body was directly copied into the game, rather than a character having been modeled in-engine that simply looks similar.
Another body is pictured in the photo, we cannot ascertain his identity as of press time. It should be noted for the squeamish that Andrei Karlov died later at the hospital, the photo below does not technically depict a dead man at the time it was taken. The image appears in Telltale’s Batman Season 2, Episode 2.
The photo comparison is below.

Arkham Knight Refundable Through End Of Year
After four months of absence, Batman: Arkham Knight is finally available for sale on PC again. Despite numerous patches, however, many customers are still finding the game in an unacceptable state, with bugs and performance issues still causing problems.
Luckily for affected customers, Warner Bros has made it possible to refund the game for any reason up until the end of the year, regardless of how much time you’ve invested.
Until the end of 2015, we will be offering a full refund on Batman: Arkham Knight PC, regardless of how long you have played the product. You can also return the Season Pass along with the main game (but not separately). For those of you that hold onto the game, we are going to continue to address the issues that we can fix and talk to you about the issues that we cannot fix.
Standard Steam refund policy allows for refunds within two weeks and with less than two hours of gameplay.

Healthy Reminder: DC Universe Preorders…

Those of you who use Steam, Direct2Drive, shop at Gamestop/Fry’s, etc, will be aware that DC Universe, the upcoming MMO by development-Goliath Sony Online Entertainment, has recently gone on for Preorder and being the impulsive buyer that I am, I have to say my response was…no. I have a fundamental disagreement with DC:U going up for preorder four months before the game releases, partially because I know that Sony is without a doubt in no position that they desperately need to sell units to pay for development, and also because four months is probably enough time that many of us will buy it, have a period where we do a ton of research into the game, and then finally involve ourselves so much that we get sick and tired of the game before we’ve even had a chance to play it.
I’m not saying I won’t be buying DC:U, just at a later date. The collector’s edition offer (Batman figurine plus a comic book plus an art book plus in-game exclusives) would be making my wallet tug itself out of my pant pocket, if my pants weren’t hung up by the door. As someone who doesn’t own a Playstation 3, I can only assume disappointment on the part of the console gamers that they will not have access to the Batman figurine, nor the alternate cover for the comic, as the PS3 version will only come in standard vanilla flavor (Game + in-game item + comic).
Don’t forget, you’re not racing against the clock. Take some time, read the guides when more people get into the open beta, and keep watching websites like Fileplanet, Rock Paper Shotgun, Gamespot, Massively, and other gaming outlets for beta key giveaways.
DC:U comes out this November for Playstation 3 and PC.
Champions In Court #2: Batman Returns
In a game where players can create whatever they want, be whoever, they want, and personalize their experience to the enth degree, it is only natural that there will be hundreds of hulks, batmen, and supermen. Creative? Not so much. Inviting a lawsuit? Cryptic should already know that, which is why both City of Heroes and Champions Online have a policy of changing costumes for characters who are reported as having trademark/copyright infringing costumes.
Champions In Court is something of a whimsical article, where I take shots at some of the players in Champions Online, but the copying of superheroes in Champions Online, to the players, is a big issue that needs to be resolved. I report maybe one person a day when I’m playing, as I rarely see these player types, and I know that some members of the community look upon it as playing Internet Police, but the implications are real. DC Comics and other companies regularly send investigative teams into games like City of Heroes and Champions Online. If you don’t report them, they will, except they will be reporting to their lawyers. Cryptic being tied up in legal matters, whether or not they win, is not good for the game, and will eventually lead to a heavily restricted creation system.
