Black Desert Mobile Drops Field of Valor Update

Black Desert Mobile’s latest update drops in the Field of Valor for a limited time.

The Field of Valor can be joined as a party of five and encompasses killing monsters for 30 minutes. In order to participate you will need to collect and spend tokens which can be gained from log-in rewards and rare drops from enemies and chests. Party members in Field of Valor share rewards so you don’t need to kill everything yourself in order to reap the benefits.

Mobility: Netmarble Releases Magic: ManaStrike

Netmarble this week launched Magic: ManaStrike, the first in the franchise to be released on iOS and Android. The game takes place in a timeline where the Planeswalkers defeat Nicol Bolas. Bolas creates a parralel universe to find the Planeswalker’s weakness. ManaStrike offers fast paced and easy to learn gameplay in real time battles in three minute matches with players around the world.

“Netmarble and Wizards of the Coast worked closely for a long time to ensure Magic: ManaStrike is a new gameplay style that will be enjoyable for all players, but stays true to Magic: The Gathering’s roots and is authentic and enjoyable to fans,” said Joe Lee, Executive Producer at Netmarble. “Thanks to our partnership, we are excited to deliver a Magic: The Gathering experience that introduces real-time battles for mobile players, yet maintains core features from the original IP for fans.”

Players can expect a slew of events to celebrate ManaStrike’s launch. ManaStrike is available on iOS and Android in English, Korean, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Indonesian, Thai, Russian and Portuguese.

“With Magic: ManaStrike, we were impressed with Netmarble’s ability to encapsulate Magic: The Gathering‘s 25-year history into a mobile game that stays true to what Magic fans want in other mediums,” said Eugene Evans, VP of Business Development and Strategy at Wizards of the Coast. “Seeing our cards and Planeswalkers stepping into the 3D battlefield, along with our card effects translated from strategic turn-based gameplay into real-time combat, is a delight to see and we can’t wait to see how Magic: ManaStrike develops over time.”

This is a team competition so you will need to recruit some other members. Winners will be rewarded with pearls and special titles.

Review: Avabel On Steam Is Lowest Of Low Effort

What can I say about Avabel Online?

Its interface is hideous.

The translation is as low effort as it gets.

The game doesn’t work half the time.

And it literally suggests starting out with auto-quest on before you’ve even taken your first step. Yes, Avabel makes no pretence on being fun to play, just throw that auto-play on and maybe toss developer Asobimo a few hundred bucks for the privilege of having a dull, uninspired ripoff of a mobile game play itself.

Now that Bluestacks is bridging the gap between low effort mobile games and low effort PC games, any fly by night developer can pay $100 to have their mobile title developed on the budget of a White Castle slider foisted onto the Steam Store where it will get buried under a sea of other low effort cash grabs with the only hopes of coverage in the form of ridicule from some loser living in his own basement.

Final Score: 0/10 – I’m sure at least one desperate fanboy will tell me that this game is better than anything that came out on PC.

Mobility: Elder Scrolls Blades Cans Chest Timers

Chest timers are so early 2019.

Monetization in Elder Scrolls Blades is getting a little less ridiculous this week as Bethesda released patch 1.5. The latest patch completely removes chest timers, allowing players to immediately open them. In addition, players who spent gems on increasing chest limits will have those gems refunded. Even better, ESB has promised that the update will add more chests to each level, each with a guaranteed gem, along with more loot dropped from enemies, and bosses in each job that may drop legendary equipment. You’ll also have 20 more inventory spaces to store that extra loot.

The full list of changes can be found on the patch notes page here.

Black Desert Available For Pre-Load On Mobile

Black Desert Mobile is now available for pre-load and character creation.

The mobile port of Black Desert goes live on December 11 at 00:00 UTC, but you can go through the painstaking, multi-hour process of creating your character right now. Eager gamers can download the client from the Android or iOS store and get the client ready, as well as create up to three characters from the get-go to start their grinding career once the servers go live in a couple of days.

There are five characters available at launch for Black Desert Mobile: The warrior, ranger, witch, giant, and valkyrie.
