Square Enix Shows Off FFXIV and Gamepad
If there was ever an MMO in line for “Best Comeback,” Final Fantasy XIV would be it. In the latest video, Square Enix shows off the custom built gamepad, as well as showing off a good deal of combat and controls.
Video of the ____: FFXIV: End of an Era Extended Cut
Square Enix has released an extended cut version of the End of an Era video released last November. The first five minutes are the same End of an Era video you saw just a few months ago, with the addition of new video showing what happened to the adventurers after they were teleported away at the end. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is current in closed testing.
Darkfall: Unholy Wars Reveals Gameplay In New Trailer
Since Aventurine announced Darkfall: Unholy Wars, I’ve seen a bit of criticism from the community over the lack of video demonstrating the new gameplay. In a recently released trailer, Aventurine shows off the Baresark, one of the classes in the warrior school of training. The Baresark is a melee class with the ability to do area of effect damage as well as stomp the ground, throwing his enemies away and (in the video) over a cliff. The new UI is also shown in the video, and you can see that it is incredibly minimalistic.
More videos showcasing the new class-based system in Darkfall: Unholy Wars is sure to come. Darkfall shuts down November 15th and is currently free for all current and past subscribers, Unholy Wars launches as a separate game on November 20th.
Transformers Universe Comic Con Trailer Released
Jagex has released a new trailer for Transformers Universe. The trailer is made up 100% of in-game realtime footage, and shows off a bit of combat, travel by vehicle, and a few characters from each side. Transformers Online now has a release date of 2013.
Darkfall: Unholy Wars Announced
Tasos Flambouras has gone to Youtube to announce Darkfall: Unholy Wars. In the video, Flambouras talks about how the job of fixing the current Darkfall was too great, and as a result Aventurine has decided to relaunch as a separate game entirely. In the video, Flambouras praises the community for its extensive feedback, and notes that Unholy Wars is in internal testing and is gearing up to roll out.
Unholy Wars features a massive art change, as well as an entirely new map, new races, new environments, a new GUI, and more.

Tribes: Ascend has released a new video parodying Dead Rising’s serious trailer. Shazbot!
Hi-Rez has announced an April 12 launch date for the free to play shooter Tribes: Ascend, although anyone can get into the open beta now by heading to the official website.
Video of the ____: Planetside 2 Shows Off Ground, Aerial Combat
The latest video from Planetside 2 comes from Sony’s publishing partner, The9. You may remember The9 as the Chinese publisher for World of Warcraft, Guild Wars, Free Realms, and Hellgate London. Details in the video aside, you can see some glimpses of ground combat, aerial combat, and vehicle combat, and boy does it look good.
Planetside 2 is set for release hopefully this year.
