Mortal Online: Welcome Back Week, Play Until July 10th.

We recently passed the one year mark with Mortal Online, and our first expansion. We are very proud of how far the game has gone, and we will continue pressing forward with Mortal Online. If you have been holding out on jumping in, then the summer sale would have you covered. If you are someone who has drifted away from the game, we are giving you a chance to once again step in your character’s shoes, and rediscover Nave.

Mortal Online. Never before have two words been able to incite as much arguing as these two, next to count Bill Roper, John Smedley, Derek Smart, and Combat Upgrade. Can you believe it was one year ago that Mortal Online launched? I sure can’t.

With the release of Dawn, Mortal Online’s first expansion pack, Star Vault would like to bring in a new batch of players with a 30% discount. For those who have played and gone, you have not been forgotten. Star Vault has opened up accounts until July 10th, for a short welcome back week.

Aion: 10 Day Free Trial And Welcome Back Week

Aion’s 2.5 patch brings a whole lot of sexy to NCsoft’s already big-hitting title. The patch brings with it a new graphics mode, new content, customizations, pets, mentoring, armors, abyss changes, dynamic maps, and more changes than you could legally shake your finger at. In fact, NCsoft is so excited, that they want to welcome back their old players (again) to show them just how well the game has improved…just not for a few weeks. Possibly to give the current subscribers a leg up on the update and work out any kinks before reopening the doors, the welcome back week runs from June 3rd to June 13th.

If you haven’t logged into your NCsoft account since the security update, you may want to get a head start. NCsoft enacted a new security policy, requiring computers to be authenticated before an account can log in from them. In order to authenticate a computer, you will need to enter your password hint answers, and if you don’t know those, go through support to get them changed. Do so soon, because there’s no saying how much NCsoft’s Customer support will be backed up.

Furthermore, those of you who never played Aion will have the opportunity to take part in a ten day trial, experiencing up to level 20. The trial goes live May 26th. Oh NCsoft, why did you have to pick June 3rd and make me choose between Aion, the Hellgate Global beta opening, and the Duke Nukem Forever beta (among other things that week)?

Age Of Conan Wants You Back: Almost Two Weeks Free

Former player of Age of Conan? Promised yourself you’d never go back to Funcom after they [insert reason here]? Well, even if you don’t hold a grudge against the company, they are willing to have you back. In fact, starting today Funcom has taken the liberty of reactivating your account for you, until the end of May. While current players are receiving a handful of potions and experience boosts, former players can return for the next week and a half and see what they’ve been missing in the land of Hyboria.

Aion: Reactivation Weekend With Double Exp

Back in Time...

Dear everyone who quit Aion (and those who left after the server merge debacle),

If the latest information from MMODATA.net is to be believed, Aion’s subscription numbers may be down but the worldwide subscription count is still estimated at slightly below three and a half million (making it indeed second to World of Warcraft). Regardless, the folks at Aion would love to see your smiling faces again, grinding your way to the end game, where you might do some PvP and punch a few gold farmers in the face for good measure. So this Friday, July 30th, NCsoft is activating all of the old accounts for the weekend, so that they may partake in the delight of double experience. Just pay no attention to your mangled username.

As startled as some of you may be, I will remind you that whatever issues I take with a company, I always continue to promote new ways to get into MMOs for as little as possible (if anything).

More on Aion as it appears.

Fallen Earth/ Lord of the Rings Online: Welcome Back!

Lord of the Rings Online uses this room as well...

Hey there ex-Fallen Earth and Lord of the Rings Online players! I know what you’ve been thinking, “I’d like to get back into [insert game here], but I just don’t have the cash right now to foot the fee for a game I don’t even know I will still enjoy!” Boy do I have a surprise for you. Both Fallen Earth and Lord of the Rings Online are running welcome back campaigns!

Fallen Earth players should have received an invitation through email by now. The offer is for ten free days to check out all the new updates, from graphics enhancements to the new construction skill, optimizations, and more! All you have to do is log into your Fallen Earth account on Fallen Earth’s website and follow the instructions to activate your free ten days.

Lord of the Rings Online, on the other hand, is giving you a free weekend. Second to Valve for free weekends, Turbine is offering the game from today until Monday for absolutely free, plus benefits! Players who partake in this offering will find that stable-masters have lowered their price to absolutely free, not to mention a 5% experience buff that will stack on top of your rest experience.

I’m mentioning both Fallen Earth and Lord of the Rings Online not just because both happen to be running this offer concurrently, but because both companies are well known for treating their customers well. Fallen Earth continues to grow in subscribers, and Lord of the Rings Online is one of the sleepy giants of the MMO World. Anyone looking to get some free time with the updated version of either game should dive into it.

Unless you’re in Europe, in which case you can’t partake in the LOTRO free weekend. Sorry! Consider complaining to Codemasters, assuming you aren’t already.
