Relaunching as free to play.
Cinderstone Online is many things, one of which is disturbing to look at due to the camera and the way characters walk and are animated. It’s also shutting down for a bit in order to relaunch.
In a post on the official Steam page, where the game is no longer available, the folks at CodeVision announced the game will come back as a free to play title as the prior model was not working out financially.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Cinderstone Online servers. After four years of continuous development, dreams, and dedication, we’ve come to a difficult realization. Despite our best efforts, Cinderstone Online hasn’t attracted the audience we hoped for, nor has it developed the features and content necessary to thrive.
