Neverwinter Coming To Xbox One

neverwinter_scourge_warlock_071414_3_wm

Perfect World Entertainment has announced that Neverwinter will be coming to Xbox One, set for launch in early 2015. The console version, according to PWE, will lose little in translation and players will be able to enjoy all of the same races, classes, and maps. According to the lead producer in a talk with IGN, module releases that are currently live on PC will be rolled out individually in a staggered schedule. The announcement does not specify exactly what is being lost in translation from PC to console, other than the obvious lack of keyboard and mouse. The Xbox One will use separate servers than those on PC, with the friend list derived from Xbox Live.

Last December, Perfect World Entertainment announced the opening of a new division focused on bringing their games to home consoles. Chinese gamers will be happy to know that Neverwinter launches on the Xbox One in China late this fall.

With its big show on Steam just over the horizon, Star Vault has laid out how the hardcore sandbox MMO will make its way to gamers worldwide. Before Mortal Online is allowed to release, however, Star Vault is implementing a number of updates and fixes. In the latest press release, Star Vault has laid down just how the Steam rollout will happen.

Each block, according to the release, has a lead time of about one month, noting that multiple blocks may run in parallel.

? Block 0 – Unreal Engine update
? Block 1 – Territory Control
? Block 2 – Territory Control Testing and release
? Block 3 – Continent Support
? Block 4 – Continent support testing and release
? Block 5 – STEAM API release on STEAM

Henrik Nystrom, Star Vault’s CEO, made the following comment (translated):

We continue our focus on working towards STEAM, it looks we all look forward to the team, but I also believe that our current players see the value in this. We will increase communication about the development work currently involves about 40 resources in our global development team. For transparency to our shareholders, we have teamed up with Axier, specialists in communication to the stock market. They have produced an analysis of Star Vault. I hope you find it interesting

Transformers MOTA Set For Summer Launch

transformers

Jagex’s Transformers Online, or “Not RuneScape” as I have referred to it in the past, has admittedly struggled in its development. Originally announced in 2011 for a 2012 release date, Jagex announced at the back end of 2012 that Transformers Online would be completely repurposed as a MOBA-style game and released in 2013. Why? Because Transformers don’t bake bread. As you might expect, this ground-up rebuild meant that the game would not make its 2013 release either.

In a news post released yesterday, Jagex announced that Transformers Online is primed and ready for a Summer 2014 release.

So here’s the big news. We are 100% set to launch Transformers Universe this Summer, and will be progressively inviting an ever-widening portion of the BETA community to enjoy the game before opening it to the rest of the world this summer!

The internal release date set for Transformers Universe is June, as stated by a Jagex employee on the official forums.

EverEmber Beta V2 Releases Today

everember

Here at MMO Fallout, we love games like EverEmber Online, so we were excited to see that the latest beta version will be releasing Monday, January 27th. The server is scheduled to come up at 5pm eastern, but you can download the client now and preload up to the latest release version. If you have never heard of the title, EverEmber Online aims to recreate the experience of 90’s MMOs driven more by experience than by holding you through a story. If you also hadn’t noticed, the game looks like retro 16-bit titles.

Check it out at the link below.

Elder Scrolls Online Hits PC/Mac 4.4.14

Elder-Scrolls-Online-Argonians

In an announcement on the official website, Zenimax Studios has confirmed that Elder Scrolls Online will launch April 4th, 2014 on the PC and Mac platforms. Console gamers will have to wait an additional couple of months, however, as the PS4 and Xbox One releases are not scheduled until June of the same year. The announcement was accompanied by a letter to the community by Game Director Matt Firor.

Worldwide demand for The Elder Scrolls Online is extraordinarily high. This means we need to do a staggered rollout of the different versions of the game to spread out the initial service load and ensure an enjoyable, smooth gameplay experience.

Check out the link below for the full announcement and a brand new trailer.

Not Massive: Sony Won’t Ban You For Early Playing

GTA_V_59100

If my childhood is anything to go off of, Sony’s consistent public contradiction of Microsoft is going to net them a belt buckle to the head, you know once the two are out of the public view. Take Two and Rockstar Games have been going insane with shutting down any outlet for pre-release Grand Theft Auto V goodies, going as far as apparently threatening legal action against some publications. Look around and you’ll find a pile of now banned accounts on Livestream, Youtube, and more.

Microsoft has continued their policy of working in tandem with the publisher and handing out console bans to anyone caught leaking pre-release gameplay, IE: Anyone caught streaming or posting screenshots/captures of their gameplay online. It is important to the conversation to point out that the bans are related to the leaking of game footage before the official street date, and not the mere act of playing the game.

Enter Sony, a company whose past few months of public relations can be whittled down to “the opposite of what Microsoft just said.” Sony is not banning anyone with a legitimate copy of GTA V who post footage of their game online before Tuesday’s launch, a move that will likely net them brownie points with the gaming community if at the expense of Rockstar’s goodwill.

If you do manage to get ahold of a copy, you’re pretty safe as long as you don’t start streaming or leaking footage.
