It’s been nearly a week since the folks at Juvty Worlds announced Wild Terra II, the technologically superior sequel to the title of a similar name. Today Juvty Worlds released a video showcasing the first 25 minutes of pre-alpha gameplay which you can view embedded above.

The video notes that;

“The game does not yet have most of the sound FX, many animations need to be improved or created, and animals leave a trail on the screen when moving. But we really want to share this video so that you can see what has already been done and how the gameplay feels. We took it off as it is.”

For those interested in checking out Wild Terra II, it is possible to buy into a founders pack. Juvty Worlds is funding Wild Terra without investors or publishers. The first rendition of the game is available on Steam in a free to play format.

[Video] Does the World Need Another Shooter? Raiders of the Broken Planet Says Yes

Raiders of the Broken Planet is an upcoming 4v1 shooter that may bring to mind Evolve due to its premise of four heroes taking on one big baddie. Looking over the developer diary from Mercury Steam, the game seems to be doing what Left 4 Dead did with the genre, introduce more of an ongoing story element to the mindless shooting. A third person shooter with cover mechanics, Raiders will have you dodging, ducking, dipping, shooting, and punching your way through waves of enemies.

An incredible discovery on one of Saturn’s moons leads a force of humans to a broken planet on the far reaches of the universe. A source of energy called Aleph exists there that grants ultimate power to who ever controls it…

You can watch 22 minutes of Raiders of the Broken Planet from Eurogamer below. The closed beta can be signed up for here, with the game set to launch on PC and consoles. MercurySteam is best known for their work on Castlevania: Lord of Shadow and their upcoming Metroid: Samus Returns.

Prey Developer: Consider Steam’s Refund Policy Your Demo

Prey launches on PC and consoles this week, and while gamers on Xbox and Playstation were able to gauge their interest thanks to a pre-release demo, PC gamers haven’t been afforded the same luxury. Thankfully, Co-Creative Director Raphael Colantonio has a solution: Buy the game anyway, and just make use of Steam’s refund policy. Steam, for those out of the know, allows automatic refunds for games within two weeks or two hours of gameplay, whichever comes first.

“It’s just a resource assignment thing. We couldn’t do a demo on both the console and on the PC, we had to choose. And besides, PC has Steam. Steam players can just return the game [prior to playing] 2 hours so it’s like a demo already.

There are a few important notes to keep in mind that if you’re using Colantonio’s suggestion, foremost being that you have to buy the game through Steam. Registering a third party key will invalidate your eligibility for a refund. Furthermore, the two hour gameplay cutoff isn’t a hard line, but you’ll be dealing with Steam’s customer support and the good will of whoever you happen to be sent to. Finally, there are no guidelines for what constitutes refund abuse, so if you’ve been refunding a lot of games Valve may cut you off.

Otherwise, just think of Prey on PC requiring a $60-80 deposit, depending on your region.
